Title: Porcelain from the East Indiaman Göthenborg

Publisher: Wiken, Götheborg 1991.

In the year 1745 the East Indiaman Göthenborg sank just outside her home port of Gothenburg. A great quantity of Chinese porcelain has recently been salvaged from the wreckage. This wealth of material is presented here, together with photographs of the porcelain finds and drawings of the designs that decorate them. The sources and symbolism of these designs are also explained. To place these discoveries in their context, the history of the Swedish East India Company is reviewed, and the final voyage of the Götheborg is recounted.
